In Save the World, weapons are items that can be crafted by the player that are used to kill monsters in the game. Weapons are color-coded based on their Rarity and are given a Power level, represented by a number inside a white background (originally placed to the right of a lightning bolt icon) based on both their rarity and upgrade level, this also decides the amount of damage that can be done with this weapon. Within missions, players can craft weapons from their inventory using schematics and required materials or they may be found in containers and loot chests scattered across the map. They come in many different forms, including laser, elemental, and normal weapons, all having certain benefits and drawbacks to using them. Weapons can be available in Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary. Storm King Weapons are of Mythic rarity, and only a few items are available in a special rarity known as Handmade.

Weapon Durability[]
Durability is the measure of how long the weapon lasts. The remaining durability of any weapon can be seen by looking at the item's durability bar on the right side of the item icon in the inventory. When the weapon has a small amount of durability left, the player will be notified that the weapon they are using is low on durability. If a weapon's durability is empty, it will be broken, making it unusable. Broken weapons are removed from the player's inventory, and they can be crafted again using the available schematic for a specific weapon.
Development[]
- Gameplay
- Ranged weapon reticle changes:
- Several energy weapons which used a triangular 3-hash crosshair now use the standard 4-hash reticle.
- Scoped snipers no longer have a reticle while not scoped.
- Reticles now have a center dot.
- Ranged weapon reticle changes:
Patch 1.7.1 (October 11, 2017)
- Weapons will deal more damage to monsters quicker at high level.
Trivia[]
- To prevent confusion between Fortnite and non-Fortnite players, the fire rate for ranged weapons is measured (although unspecified) in bullets per second. It is easy to convert bullets per second to rounds per minute, as to get RPM from BPS the BPS stat must be multiplied by sixty. This allows people not familiar to Fortnite's fire rate system to still be able to gauge the fire rate of the weapon by writing out the aforementioned equation out -the fire rate of 9 bullets per second for the Suppressed SMG translates into 540 RPM, then for the Pump Shotgun fire rate of .7 translates to 42 RPM, etc.
