Take the L is a Rare Emote in Battle Royale that could be obtained as a reward from Tier 31 of Season 3 Battle Pass.
Trivia
- Take the L seems to be based on a dance by the clown Pennywise in the 2017 remake of Stephen King's It [1].
- If you were to take the audio files for Season 3's Meteor and put it into a spectrogram, the wavelength would appear to look like Take The L's emote icon.
- There's another version of Take The L, at the end of the Hand Signals emote. However it is shorter and a little higher pitch.
- When a player dies from falling or a trap, there's a chance in the killfeed that will say "#player_name# took the L".
- There was a Christmas-themed version of Take The L that was a reward for damaging opponents with 8 different weapons during 14 Days of Fortnite called Take the Elf. The animation is nearly identical, but rather than holding their hand to their forehead, they hold a mistletoe above their head. There is also no music track to Take The Elf.
- The music track for the emote Drum Major is a remixed version of Take The L's music track.
- The track used for Take The L is from the end credits of The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, season 1 episode 8.
- The emote "Savor The W" is most likely a reference to Take the L's item description.
