Schematics are weapon and trap designs found hidden throughout the world of Fortnite. Schematics are recipes allowing players to craft Weapons and Traps from Materials.

Players can Upgrade their schematics to improve the Power Level. Schematics may be added to the Collection Book or Recycled. Increases in rarity of the schematic typically increases damage by 8%-15%. As a rule, a legendary schematic will have 1.5 times more base damage than a common schematic. Each level of the schematic adds 5% of the average damage of the ten levels of the prior evolution tier (for common rarity schematics, this will be 5% of the base damage). Evolving a schematic to the next tier will increase damage by 20%.

Each level of rarity above uncommon adds fifty to the base experience points required for the next level. Base experience starts at 150 for uncommon schematics. The next schematic level costs base level experience * current schematic level. So, levelling a rare from fifteen to sixteen will cost three thousand schematic experience (two hundred bases for rare * fifteen levels).

Certain Schematics can be obtained through daily reward coins and event currency, and can be accessed through the "Item Shop" tab and then choosing the sub tab of "Event" and there are 2 sections divided into "Event Items" and "Weekly Items" Schematics can also be recycled.
