SMGs are ranged weapons in Fortnite, that come in burst-fire, suppressed, tactical and semi-auto variants. All SMGs use Light Bullets for ammo and are extremely useful at close range. Trivia [ ] All SMGs have been vaulted at least once. The Drum Gun was the first SMG to use medium bullets, before changing to an Assault Rifle. In the Solid Gold LTM at the beggining of Season 10/X, the new version of the Machine Pistol was leaked, hinting its return. The Compact SMG was the first SMG to have a Legendary
The highest DPS of the SMGs and of all the weapons is the Legendary Rapid Fire SMG (255), while the lowest is the Common Suppressed SMG , just 154.
The one with the least damage/bullet is the Common Rapid Fire 's damage (just 13), while the one with the most damage is the Rare Burst SMG , 26.
But the Common
The Slowest one to recharge is the Epic Compact SMG (3.1), while the Fastest one is the Legendary Rapid Fire SMG (1.3).
The quickest SMG is the Rapid Fire , firing 15 bullets in just a second (it also has the smallest magazine), and the slowest one is the Burst SMG , firing 7.5 bullets per second, but it is a burst, so the Suppressed SMG is the slowest that fires normally, with 7.8 bullets per second.
SMGs, despite being expected to have high fire rate so they have a high DPS, Patch 14.0 made SMGs are very weak and even Assault Rifles have more DPS. This was because the incidents when the Submachine Gun (S5) and Compact SMG was first added, making the SMGs overpowered, and Epic Games decided to nerf SMGs. Textures Trivia [ ]
