The Primal Shotgun can be extremely deadly to Pump Shotgun users, since it deals enough damage to counter the damage of the pump.
In fact the Uncommon variant can deal 114 with a single burst, that is almost the same damage of the LegendaryPump Shotgun of 116. The only advantage that the Spaz has over the Primal Shotgun is headshot damage.
Between this two shotguns, the Primal Shotgun actually has more range. Being essentially a variant of the Drum Shotgun means that it also has a damage falloff that starts at 1.50 tiles (same as the Tac and Charge) and a maximum range of 8 tiles (same as the Heavy).
Combining this weapon with a Pump Shotgun can surprisingly be very strong, as you can shoot the Pump first for high damage and then switch to the Primal to finish an opponent. But be careful for the shotgun delay, you can easily lose a fight if you don't do enough damage with both shotguns.
If the weapon is aimed down, it has a reduced fire rate, but more precision.
Make sure you have a backup weapon because this weapon has a long reload.
You don't really need an SMG if you have this weapon.
However, if the enemy is boxed up, you would actually need one, because this shotgun only deals 20 to structures.

Trivia[]
The Primal Shotgun bears a resemblance to the Black Drum from Save the World. Strangely, the Balck Drum is ALSO burst-fire like the Primal Shotgun.
Upon launch, players found this weapon to be too overpowered due to how high the damage is and how easy it is to get eliminations with this weapon. Many requested this thing to be nerfed, but Epic has yet to do so.
It is one of the five Primal weapons in Battle Royale.
It currently holds the Highest DPS, for both shotguns and all other weapon (262). Second being the LegendaryRapid Fire SMG (255).
