Marauders are non-player characters that function similarly to Stormtroopers and Henchmen and therefore cannot be detected in Large Team Modes, Team Rumble or Battle Lab. Marauders have similar body types to hero’s in Save the World, however wear fox-like masks over their faces. They were added in Chapter 2 Season 3, and were removed the next season.

Activity[]

Every few times during a match, Marauder Pods drop from random Rifts in the sky. When falling, the pods can crash through any buildings and other objects before hitting the ground. Upon crashing into the ground, five (sometimes six) Marauders of up to three different types appear. Each type have different types of weapons and different types of health.

The Marauders explore the map in search for players to attack and eliminate. Occasionally, Marauders can randomly emote when they are not disturbed. Marauders, like Henchmen, show ?'s and !'s over their heads to indicate if they hear or see a nearby player.

Players can use the "Shakedown" feature on a knocked Marauder to find the other Marauders in the group. When a Marauder is knocked, they can be revived by their group. When a full group of Marauders are knocked, they eventually are all eliminated. When Marauders are defeated, they drop not just weapons, but random consumables and other items they don't use in battle. They mostly drop healing items such as Medkits and Shield Potions, but on rare occasions drop a stack of Firefly Jars.

Marauder Types[]

These Marauders also have large bodies and have full health and shield, unlike the other Marauders with only 100 health. The weapons they use are:

Strategy Against Marauders[]

  1. Use fast-firing weapons. (Tactical Submachine Guns)
  2. Decoys were also helpful for distracting the marauders
  3. Be prepared to be hit by one or two Stink Bombs
  4. Defeat the Heavy Marauders before fighting any other types so they can't use their powerful weapons
  5. Attempt to defeat Marauders or weaken with Sniper Rifles from long range before they got close
  6. Marauders could be very powerful against a single player, which makes it recommended to avoid them unless you have powerful weapons to counter.

Trivia[]

  • Since Marauders are masked hero’s from Save the World, it can be possibly part of the lore, or simply just a small unimportant detail.
  • Assault Marauders are the only way to get Stink Bombs in Chapter 2 Season 3.
  • Heavy Marauders are one of the only ways to get Rocket Launchers in Chapter 2 Season 3. The only other option is a more rare chance of getting one in a Supply Drop.
  • Deadeye Marauders are similar to Henchmen with Sniper Rifles, since they also have a Pistol for close range combat.
  • Marauders account for almost 15% of all eliminations in a single match, making them most likely a problem for players.
