The Flare Gun is a Rare weapon in Battle Royale that was added in Patch 13.20.

It deals 60 damage with area of effect and starts fire. Once the bullet explodes, it acts just like a Shakedown, it scans a very big area revealing opponents' positions for marking them. It also works through walls. However, if it hits the ground or a wall before exploding, the explosion won't have the Shakedown effect, so it is recommended to fire to the sky.

As for ammo, it uses its own unique ammo, which have a fire icon. This ammo, just like hooks, energy cells and arrows, is unobtainable; it comes with 6 bullets and its magazine size is 1.

Since Patch 13.3, it is possible to light campfires using it.

The Flare Gun was vaulted on Patch 14.0 because of new season's theme, it remains avaiable for players who are stuck on Patch 13.4, but remains unavaiable in Creative.

The Flare Gun is still available in the Fog of War and Unvaulted game mode.
