Elimination is the defeat of a player or husk.

  • In Save the World, an elimination occurs when killing a husk. Many hero class abilities prox off these.
  • In Battle Royale, an elimination occurs by running out of health in Solo mode, giving out after being DBNO, or by having all active teammates entering that state simultaneously so that they cannot save each other.

An eliminated player will immediately crumple to the ground, if he/she hadn't already, and a small drone (aka The Lobby Drone) will swoop down to teleport him/her off the island upon defeat. (This drone then teleports that player back to the lobby, where he/she is fully healed and ready for the next match.) Any weapons/items in stored in his/her loadout, as well as any ammunition and building materials that were in his/her possession will be immediately dropped on the spot where the player was eliminated. Once a player is eliminated, he/she is out for the rest of the game, which then shifts to spectator mode unless the player selects "Return to Lobby" or “Ready Up”.

When a player is eliminated, he/she will then see the display name of the opponent who eliminated him/her. If a player runs out of health from getting lost in the storm, falling from a great height or getting hit by one's own explosive weapon, this would constitute as a self-elimination.

When a player eliminates an opponent, the opponent's display name will appear briefly in red above the player's health and shields. The number of opponents eliminated during a particular match will appear below the mini-map, next to either a skull or crosshair icon. When a player knocks down an opponent, the opponent's display name will appear briefly in light yellow above the player's health and shields. Eliminations that result from a knockout will also be credited to the player who was credited with the knockout, regardless of whoever or whatever finished off the knocked-down opponent.

The word "elimination" is used in place of "kill", perhaps to minimize the game's violence, and allow defeated players to live again.
