Burst SMG was an SMG in Battle Royale. It is available in Common, Uncommon and Rare. It fires a quick 4-round burst shot, has a 1.75x headshot multiplier and uses Light Bullets as ammunition. It has heavy recoil when fired.

The Burst SMG was vaulted in Patch 10.30 to bring back the Tactical Submachine Gun.

The Rapid Fire SMG was added in Patch 12.00 which shares the same model as the Burst SMG but it's full auto instead of burst.

The Common version of the Burst SMG was available in the Arsenal LTM.

Despite the community considering the Burst SMG as a bad SMG, the Burst SMG deals the most damage out of all SMGs, even the Suppressed Submachine Gun and the Drum Gun, an Assault Rifle. But, the Burst SMG has a slow firerate and burst-fires.

Strategy

• The Burst SMG works best at close-to-mid ranges, as four body shots can be effective at an enemy, with the Uncommon and Rare variants able to take out a full health/shield bar in a single burst. It can be very useful for long-range attacks, as it has the highest damage of any SMG in the game. It may be difficult to hit shots, though, as it has quite high recoil.
• Headshots can be potentially effective at closer ranges, although it would not have the same effectiveness as a shotgun.
• Make sure to carry a steady supply of light ammo, as its 4-round burst feature may consume bullets very quickly.

Trivia

• The weapon appears to be based on a Kriss Vector. Unlike the Vector, which has a 2-round burst and full auto modes, the gun only has a 4-round burst fire.
• All three rarities of the Burst SMG deals 4 more damage than all three rarities of the Suppressed Submachine Gun, while having a slightly slower fire rate and a smaller magazine size of 24. The damage is quite high compared to all SMGs, and the weapon's fire rate of 7.5, beats the Burst Assault Rifle’s fire rate.
• The Rare Burst SMG deals the same Headshot Damage as a Common Assault Rifle and a Rare Suppressed Assault Rifle.
• It looks like a machine pistol, but the weapon is held with one hand on the handle and the other for support.
• Followed by the Compact SMG, this is the second submachine gun to have the "submachine gun" part abbreviated to "SMG."
• Although the Burst SMG looks like the Rapid Fire SMG, it is burst-fire. While the Rapid Fire SMG is full auto, has lower damage, x1.75 headshot multiplier and a smaller magazine size (Except the Epic and Legendary variant which has 26).
• Due to a bug, if you equip a Burst SMG to a Sentry, it will shoot 2x faster. Having a fire rate of 15 and a tremendous DPS of over 360.
