Buried Treasure was a Legendary item in Battle Royale. It is a treasure map that leads the player to a buried treasure chest with guaranteed Legendary items, directed by a golden light in the sky and a red dashed line that appears when the player equips the item. When the player reaches the location, they must swing their pickaxe at the ground to uncover chest before they can open it. Only one Buried Treasure Map can be held at a time, but multiple can be used in a single match.

In the Endgame LTM, there was a Mythic variant to the Buried Treasure called the Avengers Buried Treasure, which was a item exclusive to the Avengers team, and would lead players into a buried treasure chest with one Avengers Mythic weapon inside it.

The Buried Treasure was removed in Season 9 making them currently unavailable even in Creative. It was removed due for the theme of Season 9. In Chapter 2 Season 1, something similar to the Buried Treasure was added to the Sweaty Sands POI, however, it’s just a regular chest buried underground.

Trivia[]

  • This item has been either been severely debuffed or has been removed from the game files completely: it can be still obtained with a glitch in Creative but it doesn't seem to work, as the chest spawns already open.
  • With the release of Chapter 2, the item has been completely removed from item spawners. the files for this item still remain, only the logic file has been removed to prevent people from getting the item in creative.
  • If you look closely, the treasure map shows Tilted Towers, Loot Lake, Lazy Lagoon, Dusty Divot, the volcano, and a building which may represent Polar Peak.
