Audio is an important part of Battle Royale, as it can be used to determine the locations of enemies and for communication in Duo and Squad matches.

In-game Sounds[]

Weapon sounds[]

Most weapons in the game make loud noises when fired, with the exception of suppressed and arrow-firing weapons. Weapon sounds can be easily used to determine other players' locations.

Footsteps[]

Footstep sound plays every time when a player walks. Crouching can be used to reduce the sound of footsteps.

Ambient Sounds[]

Ambient sounds play in some areas of the Battle Royale Map, including:

Chest ambience[]

Unopened chests make ambient noises, which can be heard if the player is close enough to the chest. This can make finding chests easier.

NPC music[]

When there are Marauders or Loot Sharks near the player, music will play. Both types of NPCs use different music. The music gets louder the closer the NPCs are to the player. The NPC music can be useful for detecting or avoiding hostile NPCs.
