Ammunition

Ammunition is used in all weapons other than melee and consumables. In Save the World, it can be crafted either from the inventory view or any time by holding down the reload button as long as the player has the resources needed. It can also be found in many locations on mission maps, sometimes hidden in plants or trash. Often, ammo can be found rather openly in ammunition boxes.[1] In Battle Royale, ammunition can be found from floor loot, chests, ammo boxes and supply drops, but unlike in Save the World, it can't be crafted. In addition, players can carry up to 999 ammo of any kind, with a few exceptions. You can only carry 12 rocket ammo in pubs and you can only carry 60 in Creative and Battle Lab/Playground.

Every ranged weapon needs a certain kind of ammo. Players should check their Inventory and which ammo will fit their current equipment.

During v7.20, all ammo types (excluding Hooks and Arrows) have been re-textured to match the design of when dropped on the ground (for example, rockets will now show a rocket with the angry eyes and mouth).

Battle Royale[]

Light Bullets[]

Light Bullets are generally used in SMGs or Pistols, to a few exceptions like the Minigun or Tactical AR. They are usually found in stacks of 18 (formerly 12 before Patch 4.3) in their corresponding loot types, except for Miniguns, where stacks of 90(formally 60)are provided instead.

Rockets[]

Used by rocket launchers. Unlike other ammo in BR, you cannot carry up to 999 of the same kind, which would make explosive weapons too overpowered if you do, so the max you can carry is 12, while on creative it can go up to 60.

Energy Cells[]

This ammo is not really used in Battle Royale. The first ever weapon to include this ammo is the Zapotron, while 7 seasons later with a promotion for Avengers: Endgame, it was used for Chitauri's rifles. In the Star Wars promotion event during the first season of Chapter 2, it was also used in First Order Blaster Rifles and this gun was the second gun being in core gamemodes (Solo, Duos & Squads), the Zapotron being the 1st. This ammo is infinite, which means you do not have to hold this ammo for those guns to work.

Charges[]

Charges are not like ammo. Those "ammo" are rechargeable and mostly used by Consumables like the TNTina's Ka-Boom Bow, Bandage Bazooka, Creepin' Cardboard or every consumable that made it into Spy Games.

Instead of having a set amount of items in your inventory and when used it gets rid of the item in your inventory, charges does the opposite.

All items that uses charges as their "ammo" are dropped in stacks of 5. Once used, a reload icon will show up on top of the items' icon slot in your inventory, and if used five times, the item stays in your inventory, but you have to wait for another charge to reload, taking around 20 seconds.

Trivia[]

Note those are not external links, they just bypass redirects

  • Light Bullets
    • They represent the 9mm calibers or smaller calibers than the 9mm caliber, probably the 9x19 "Parabellum", or "Luger" ammunition.
  • Medium Bullets
    • The mid-caliber ammo would be based on the NATO 7.62x51mm ammo, or it can alternatively be called the .308 Winchester, as both calibers have basically no difference in between them.
    • What is unusual in-game is that while the new UI icon for the mid-calibre bullets shows them as regular ammo, the old UI icon shown them as being hollow-point.
  • Heavy Bullets
    • The icon for heavy bullets probably resembles a colourless-tip .50 BMG round.
  • Shells 'n' Slugs (also knows as Shells in BR)
    • As the description in Save the World suggests, it is for weapons that use all types of shells, such as buckshot, birdshot, or slugs. The only weapon that is not a Shotgun that uses Shells 'n' Slugs is the Boom Bow. Based on a 12-gauge round filled with #00 buckshot for shotguns.
  • Rockets
    • In Save the World, rocket launchers instead of launching 1 rocket and use 1 rocket ammo, they still fire 1 rocket but uses 3 rocket ammo at a time.
  • Energy Cells
    • In Battle Royale, the Zapotron was the first gun to use this ammo. However, due it being extremely overpowered it was vaulted in the same day.
    • Battle Royale will most likely add weapons with this ammo in promotions. Furthermore, it cannot be seen in a player's inventory.
  • Arrows
    • In Party Royale you can only get 99, unlike with Crossbows which has an unlimited amount.
  • Hooks
